Space-Rat Xplode! Release
Written by Christian Rieß
Saturday, 24 March 2012 11:19

The company I am working for released its first title. Space-Rat Xplode! is a remake of the old classic Bomberman, features a single player campaign with more than 50 levels and a up to 4 player multiplayer mode over LAN and internet. The two game modes and various game options make it a diversified experience.

It is currently available in Germany only. You can buy it in various stores, on amazon.de or as a digital distribution on gamesload.de and gamesplanet.com. The game is currently published for Mac and Windows.

More on the game in my portfolio section: Space-Rat Xplode!.

Occupy Wallstreet

This video is quite disturbing for me.

They are rounding up peaceful protesters. And then out of the sudden use pepper spray against them as they get nervous. The women seem to be very surprised, which I can understand, since they weren't doing anything wrong. As I said, quite disturbing, as you can feel their pain and fear. What is happening over there in the US? Shouldn't they be asking themselves, what went wrong instead of trying to "contain" the situation? Ok, they are trying to bring things back to normal. But this normal state is what upsets the people. Something is going horribly wrong in the USA.

This is truly amazing. A game called Foldit was developed to help scientist to model enzymes. This could actually lead some day to a cure of AIDS. And all with the help of some gamers with a capable brain and to much spare time. As I said, it is truly amazing. Maybe there is more to serious gaming than it might seem?

Efficient Education by Atari founder

Apparently Nolan Bushnell, a founder of Atari, is currently working on an educational program that uses cloud computing and gamified learning. If this really works, it could be revolutionary. But I don't think, that they should use it to "fast forward" education, but to make it "broader", use the extra time to give the kids a wider horizon.
